I was struck by this Oak tree the other day, its wounded trunk speaking to me as elements of the natural world often do on my daily walks—visceral reminders and reflections of the human condition everywhere.
Lisa I know I have expressed this to you before but once again, your writings are absolutely beautiful. They truly help me expand my heart and get in touch with my own being. I love the shedding analogy. It couldn’t be more truthful. once again, I’m so grateful to have crossed your path in life because you truly are a beautiful, beautiful soul that has so much to offer. I love the way you express your vulnerability and truth because as I’ve said before, it helps me do that with myself so thank you thank you thank you. With great appreciation and love my friend.❤️🐻
Thanks so much, Bear. Deeply appreciate you reading and sharing your reflections, as always :) Will miss you this week, but should be there next Wed. <3
Wow! Thank you for sharing. Thank you for shedding. Like you finding something you have written about in your past, I read you now and see myself written in my past and see where I am now and love the reminder. We must never forget what has taught us and to return to these lessons our first Mother shares for us to see.
Love this reflection, Meli. Makes me think about how we've witnessed each other's and how truly sacred that is. What precious time. I miss it, and you, but hold it close always. And I love those lessons "our first Mother" shares for us to see. It is such a holy connection if we can find our way back to it. Sending you love across the pond and hope we meet again this year. Scotty and I are likely doing Dolomites later this year so I'll be in touch if we get our shit together :) Love you.
Another outstanding read. Love the parallel of tree to human. It's made me wonder about the story revealed in a slice of old growth tree (growing for the sake of growing) compared to a new growth tree (grown for quick production). The "heartwood" in the old growth tree is much larger. Permit me to extend the metaphor that a deeper consciousness and gratitude for simply breathing life will expand our heart.

It will indeed. It’s simple, and often forgotten or never fully realized. I need the reminder always. 🩶
